Smile
Written by Steve Wallis, 1/8/2007
When I saw you smile through the window
It was such a great smile, I knew I loved you so
Like me, I know you’ve endured suffering and woe
Maybe together, we could inflict on big business a huge blow
Scotland is such a radical place
That’s partly why you have such a beautiful face
Can we together save the human race?
I knew you before
When you were on Ward 4
Are you still there?
To kiss you in the dining room, I would dare!
I hope somehow we will meet again
Like me, I know you are not insane
Maybe you will stay there just for me
Maybe you will feign insanity
I don’t know if our love will last forever
But I think like me you are clever
There is a lot I’ll have to teach you
But I will enjoy teaching somebody new
Could you be Martha and could I be Doctor Who?
The Doctor loved Martha, that was obviously true
But there is someone else he couldn’t ignore
Who he couldn’t reach but loved more
At the moment, I am very lonely
And you could be my one and only!
I know I love you very much
And I can’t wait to feel your loving touch...
I have recorded the song as a musical poem, in MP3 format.
