Dedicated to the late Alana Murray

The other month I heard of the death of a stranger to me
I’ve known very few of her kind

Her friend Igor told me that she was hit by a Dunfermline car
And her death was suspicious, maybe she now lives among the stars

The way she had lived I’d love to know
Two emails from her were all I received
But they convinced me she was very kind
And that she also had a brilliant mind

Her music was brilliant
Her kindness was pure
She may have been an angel
Of that I’m not sure

You were beautiful. You were beautiful.
You were beautiful, it’s true

I never saw your face in any place
But I knew what to do

To write this song for you

You said you were often compared to Martine
Another woman I have not yet seen

She is beautiful. She is beautiful.
She is beautiful, it’s true

She may be another angel with a smile on her face
And it’s time to face the truth
I want to see her very soon

You would probably have been in my band
We could have travelled all over the land
We could have toured the world together
I may even have fallen in love with you

And baby, you could have been the one that I want
If you’d been lying there in my arms
I’m finding it hard to believe
You’re in heaven

Infiltration, assassinations and mind control
And not just the odd MI5 or CIA mole
Have so far stopped the revolution
But it is the only solution

There’ll be a slow waltz for Alana all down through the years
With Red Day, the Foundation and web
I have come up with a quick step solution
Not just the will to RESIST
Before too many like you are dead

I have recorded the song as a musical poem, in MP3 format.
