Dedicated to Yvonne Dunbar

You’re in my heart, you’re in my soul
You can help me achieve my socialist goal

You may be my lover, you’re my best friend
You’re someone on whom I can depend

You’re teaching me about individuality
And I’m teaching you about setting us all free

I endured two days of gloom
When you returned, my heart went boom
I think you’re an angel playing with my heart

I know you’re kind and clever
I feared you were gone forever
I’m worried now you’ll leave my life
I’ll need you when I face trouble and strife

All at once
You finally told me something which made me worry that

You’ll not keep coming back
The smile that now greets me
Would brighten someone else’s day
It’d take my smile away
All at once

All at once
I’d be drifting on a lonely sea
Wishing you’d come back to me

Holding on to memories
And it’d hurt me more than you know
So much more than it shows

All at once

I’d hate you to think
You’d better leave right now
Before you fall any deeper
I dont want you to leave right now
Even if you’re feeling weaker and weaker
Please don’t leave right now

Please don’t ever leave me
At least until the world is free
I need you as my best friend
Helping my struggle to the end

When you come into the room
Maybe your heart goes boom
I think Im an angel playing with your heart

And through it all
You’ve showed me such affection
I’m fed up of rejection
And those who didn’t mean what they said

I’m loving angels instead

I’m loving angels instead

I have recorded the song as a musical poem, in MP3 format.
